2023 Senior Class Gift
None

[[Amount Raised]] given by [[Gifts Received]] 2023 grads!
What is the Senior Class Gift? The Senior Class Gift is an opportunity for graduating students to give back to the programs, departments, scholarships, and more that played a key role during their time at UW-Eau Claire. We hope that supporting future Blugolds will be one of the many ways that you will choose to celebrate your time at UW-Eau Claire. We invite you to make a senior class gift of $20.23 in honor of your graduation year to support a bright future for the next generation of Blugolds. We also have the opportunity for you to honor a favorite faculty or staff member with a “Blugold Tribute” in appreciation for the impact they had on you. You can choose to donate to your academic department, give back to scholarships for future students, or support a particular campus need or program. Or, you can direct your gift to the Excellence Fund, which supports the areas of greatest need at the university. What will I receive for my gift? As a thank you from the UW-Eau Claire Foundation for your $20.23 gift, you’ll receive a Blugold spirit cord, which are blue and gold cords to wear with graduation regalia or to display somewhere meaningful so you’ll always be reminded of your time at UW-Eau Claire. We’ll also deliver a beautiful certificate with your name on it to one faculty or staff member you choose to honor as a “Blugold Tribute” with a note that includes your name. This is an opportunity to say thank you to an individual on campus who has made an impact on you.

The Library Student Employee Scholarship is awarded to our valued students, and your gift to this fund will be matched! McIntyre Library McIntyre Library Student Employment Student employment is a necessary part of the college experience for many students. It can also be a transformative educational experience. At McIntyre Library, we work to provide our student employees with support, continuity, mentorship, and meaningful work experiences that contribute to their sense of belonging and success at UW-Eau Claire and beyond. We rely on our dedicated student employees to provide excellent service, collections and operations; we admire their ability to balance challenging academic, work, and personal demands; and we value their contributions to the Library and the University. We appreciate that our student employees often become library advocates, and many even go on to pursue careers in librarianship. The McIntyre Library Student Employee Scholarship is one way we demonstrate our appreciation for valued student employees. One McIntyre Library student employee is awarded a $500 scholarship each year. Support Library Student Employees and Get Your Gift Matched! Your gift to the McIntyre Library Student Employee Scholarship will help continue to provide exceptional opportunities and services for students at UWEC. Supporting student scholarships helps lower the out-of-pocket financial burden on students. You can have a major impact on students and their future careers by making a gift today. By making a gift, you are eligible for a library borrower’s card to check out books, popular reading collections, board games, children’s books, DVDs, and CDs from UW-Eau Claire McIntyre Library and UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Library. Check out our donation levels for additional benefits of making a gift and joining our McIntyre Valued Partners (MVP) Program. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000 thanks to the generosity of Dr. Sally Webb, a longtime member of UWEC's faculty and staff and a lifelong lover of books and libraries. Join Sally in making a gift to support library students and programs. Hear from this Year's Scholarship Recipient "If it wasn’t for my job in the library within Special Collections, I would probably be on a completely different career path and possibly even a different major entirely This job has shown me that my dream career is more attainable than I would’ve initially thought…. As a first generation college student who is largely paying for school by myself, getting a job while going to school was pretty crucial for my college success….Coming into college at the height of the pandemic made finding my place and fitting into the campus community difficult. Working on campus in the library has made me feel more connected to campus and has given me a small sense of community….” - Stephanie Much, 2022 Scholarship recipient

NCUR Mentored Research
NCUR Mentored Research
In honor of NCUR, your gift to the Mentored Student Research Endowment will be matched dollar-for-dollar!
In honor of NCUR, your gift to the Mentored Student Research Endowment will be matched dollar-for-dollar!
[[Amount Raised]] raised to support the future of student research at UW-Eau Claire!
Give now to secure the future of student research at UW-Eau Claire, and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar! UW-Eau Claire is honored to host the National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR) on April 13-15. NCUR promotes undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity through an annual conference for undergraduate students. NCUR is unique because it offers students from all disciplines and institutions of higher education the chance to showcase their work on a national stage. And when that stage is located at our university that is dedicated to research, in a city that is truly a rising star in the Midwest, we have a fantastic opportunity to showcase what being a Blugold is all about. UWEC is honored to be hosting such an important, exciting celebration of research, and it will be significant as an in-person event. Participation in research has proven to impact a student's educational experience significantly, both in college and beyond. The benefits of working on a mentored research project in college are priceless, from learning to solve real-world problems and problems to developing strong critical thinking and communication skills. 65% of UW-Eau Claire alums who participated in research said it helped secure employment. 79% of UW-Eau Claire alums who participated in research said it was a significant factor for graduate school admission. The downside? Research isn't free. Materials, equipment and travel all come at a cost; student and mentor time are valuable. And many students cannot afford out-of-pocket expenses that may accompany their research experience, such as travel to offsite research locations or to present their research results at regional and national conferences. Inflation has increased travel costs significantly, making fieldwork and travel to present at conferences substantially more costly. And summer stipends have not increased to keep pace with what other summer opportunities pay. That's where you come in! Your gift to the Mentored Student Research Endowment allows students to build their skill set by tackling real problems and questions that are important to society. And an additional bonus. If you give now, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000! From studying the potential for contamination of a family member by a cancer patient's drugs to examining how smartphones affect mental health and sleep patterns to exploring how groundwater contamination spreads, students genuinely make an impact through their research. But no matter the research focus, they learn valuable skills and gain confidence in their abilities in the workplace and society. Give now so that all students, no matter their background or financial situation, can participate in research at UW-Eau Claire. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar until we reach $5,000! With your help, Blugolds will continue to change lives (their own and others) for years to come while keeping UWEC known as one of the best undergraduate research universities.

Men's Soccer 2022-2023
Support UW-Eau Claire Men's Soccer
Support UW-Eau Claire Men's Soccer
[[Amount Raised]] given by [[Gifts Received]] donors to support UWEC Men's Soccer
Greetings Blugold Soccer friends and family! We hit the ground running in our inaugural season in 2021-22, finishing with a record of 15-4. Not only did we have success as a team, but we also saw individual efforts that ranked some of our players amongst the best in the country, creating great building blocks for this season where we won our first 13 games. While we are proud of the success we have had so far, we still have a long way to go to reach our goals. We are continuing to set the bar high for our program and we need your help. As we prepare for the future, we ask that you consider making a donation to the men’s soccer fund, which provides financial support for the program. These funds will help us recruit and retain student-athletes who are athletically and academically talented. They also help us provide resources to ensure that our student-athletes achieve excellence in the classroom and on the field. Your tax-deductible gift supports our mission of enhancing the education of our dedicated student-athletes by providing them with a first-class experience. One of our goals for spring of 2024 is to take our players overseas to compete against professional teams. Not only will this prep our team for when we officially join a conference, it will also put our players in front of the people who could potentially sign them to a professional contract after they finish their Blugold career. The trip will also provide one of our university’s guideposts of a high-impact learning experience as most of our student-athletes have never traveled abroad. We appreciate your continued support and loyalty to UW-Eau Claire and the men’s soccer program. Thank you for considering giving to our program and helping us in our pursuit of excellence. GO BLUGOLDS!

Support UW-Eau Claire Track and Field
Support UW-Eau Claire Track and Field
[[Amount Raised]] given by [[Gifts Received]] donors to support UWEC Track and Field
The track and field teams at UW-Eau Claire had another successful season in 2022. The year was highlighted by the men’s team winning both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships and the women placing in the top 25 as well. The men and women combined for 21 individual All-American titles, three relay All-American titles, and seven school records. The teams also combined for seven individual conference titles and two relay titles. Just as importantly, our team members carry a full course load and are true student athletes. The men’s and women’s teams received Academic All-American status carrying a combined GPA of 3.27 and 3.50, respectively. The two teams also had 31 Academic All-Americans combined. The team’s success at balancing academics and track and field is a tribute to the good people – like you – in their lives. With your support, we are developing Blugolds who do well on the track and in life. I am writing you to ask you to support the Blugold track and field program’s record of excellence with a donation of $25 or more. Your donations will help us supplement assistant coach’s pay, buy/replace uniforms, replace old equipment and supplement our current budget for meals and lodging for contests away from home. We have big goals, so our team really appreciates your help. Your tax-deductible donation will have a big impact on our efforts. Please be a part of a winning 2023 track and field season at UW-Eau Claire! It is an honor to lead such an outstanding group of young men and women. I want to personally thank you for your support of UW-Eau Claire track and field. GO BLUGOLDS! Chip Schneider, Head Coach 715-836-5016 schnechi@uwec.edu

Support UW-Eau Claire Men's and Women's Cross Country
Support UW-Eau Claire Men's and Women's Cross Country
[[Amount Raised]] given by [[Gifts Received]] donors to support UWEC Cross Country
The UW-Eau Claire cross country program is building a successful tradition. During the past 15 years (and 14 CC seasons) the Blugolds have finished in the top 10 as a team at nationals 13 times including a men’s national title in 2015, a women’s national title in 2009 and a women’s runner-up finish in 2017. Eight men and 13 women have earned a total of 30 individual All-American awards (top 40 finish at nationals) during this same time including an individual national title by Darin Lau in 2017. It is no surprise that Blugold distance runners have been equally successful in the classroom since the skill set needed to excel as a runner and a student are similar. The men’s team cumulative GPA has been above 3.0 for the past fourteen years, and the women’s team cumulative GPA has been over 3.4 for the past fifteen. The team has earned the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic Team of the Year Award with the women winning the honor in 2009 and the men capturing it in 2015. The hard work and discipline it takes to be a successful student athlete carries over to life after college. Employers are drawn to individuals who have competed in cross country at UW-Eau Claire because of the work ethic and team focused mentality that is developed by being a part of our program. In addition, being involved in cross country builds a high level of self-confidence because every member of this team has the potential to be successful if they put in the work and have a positive attitude. With your help we will ensure that our student athletes continue to have this truly unique and beneficial experience that being a member of the UW-Eau Claire cross country team provides. Thank you for your support, Dan Schwamberger, Head Cross Country Coach schwamdj@uwec.edu / 715-836-2649

Support Geology and Environmental Science's Field Camp that provides amazing learning experiences
Support Geology and Environmental Science's Field Camp that provides amazing learning experiences UW-Eau Claire Geology UW-Eau Claire Geology alumni have fond field camp memories from New Mexico, Montana, and Wyoming where they solved complex geological problems, battled cacti, spent grueling days amidst spectacular scenery, and nights in the field lab finalizing their projects. We will again be striving to provide amazing learning experiences in both our New Mexico and Montana field camps this year. This year’s Field Camp I will be special as we are celebrating our 25th consecutive year of running it in southern New Mexico. Unfortunately, field camp is unaffordable for many students. For this reason, we ask you, our alumni and friends, to consider extending a helping hand to these students by donating to our Adopt-A-Field-Camper fund. Your Adopt-A-Field-Camper donation goes directly into the Myers/Willis Geology Field Camp scholarship fund, and it provides a geology student with an opportunity to experience the life-changing event that is field camp. An added bonus to your donation is that it will be matched dollar-for-dollar by donations from Ric Kopp (’75), Curt (’77) & Laura Peck, and Emeritus Professor Dr. Paul Myers! The Myers/Willis Geology Field Camp Scholarship fund helps defray the costs of the field camp experience so all geology students, regardless of their financial situation, can afford to attend field camp. A financial gift of any size to the Adopt a Field Camper program helps us meet our goal. Please see the giving level options to learn more about how you can "adopt" a field camper! Thanks so much for supporting today's Geology and Environmental Science students! Sincerely, Scott Clark, Ph.D. Chair, Dept. of Geology and Environmental Science

To make a gift in honor of Breann Schossow, please visit https://blugolds.uwec.edu/donate. Breann Schossow graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2012, but not before leaving a lasting legacy at her alma mater. Breann was an outstanding journalist who led to many of her Communication and Journalism classmates looking up to her for her leadership and mentorship in journalism. She had touched so many classmates and professors during her time at UW-Eau Claire. Her many experiences at UW-Eau Claire showcased her passion for writing and broadcast journalism. At The Spectator, Bre held many positions including copy editor, features editor, news editor, managing editor, reporter and editor-in-chief. Throughout her Blugold career, Bre also was a crucial part of WUEC-FM 89.7 Eau Claire, the UW-Eau Claire’s Student radio production. It was here that she became a Senior Producer and also the host and producer of Blugold Performance of the Air, which was a Wisconsin Public Radio affiliate. While she was still a student at UW-Eau Claire, Bre also worked as a reporter in the Leader-Telegram's newsroom. Breann was the 2011 Ann Devroy Fellow, a student opportunity awarded to an accomplished student journalist at UW-Eau Claire. As the Ann Devroy Fellow, she had the opportunity to be a journalism intern at the Washington Post for three weeks, and in her own words: "Spending three weeks there has left me with an unquenchable thirst for this profession. I had the chance to learn the ins and outs of the newsroom, while shadowing some of the most remarkable reporters I have ever met. People who, like Ann, strive to be even better than is possible to do their jobs. From my day in the Supreme Court to sitting in on the beginning of the health care repeal debate in the House to helping a reporter interview neighbors of a young mother dead before her time, I have changed. I am not the same journalist I was, because learning more about the profession I love has made me better. I will strive to be better than my very best to carry on Ann Devroy's legacy, determination and thirst for the truth. It's an amazing way to begin a journalism career, and something that I'm indescribably grateful for." Along with the opportunity at the Washington Post, the Ann Devroy Fellow recipient receives a three-month summer internship with a regionally-admired news organization. As the 2011 Fellow, Breann worked at Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as the General Assignment Intern. After her internship with Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, her career began to blossom. Bre continued to grow in her role as a journalist at organizations such as NPR, WPR and MPR. Bre had touched so many throughout her student career at UW-Eau Claire and also at the prominent news organizations where she worked. UW-Eau Claire would be remiss if we didn’t honor Breann’s accomplishments at the university. After Breann's recent passing, the Communication and Journalism department will dedicate a part of the Ann Devroy Fellowship in her name with the Breann Schossow Internship Fund for Devroy Fellows. This fund was created to honor Bre's dedication to helping others to be their best, especially aspiring journalists. Donations will provide needed support for the Fellow as they complete their summer internship. Breann understood the importance of this opportunity when she was a student and how it paved her way to become an accomplished journalist. The UW-Eau Claire’s Communication and Journalism Department and UW-Eau Claire Foundation invite you to send memorial gifts to the Breann Schossow Internship Fund for Devroy Fellows. By doing this, you are giving another talented journalism student at UW-Eau Claire the opportunities--like Breann had--to jumpstart their future career as a promising journalist.

Secure the future for student research opportunities at UW-Eau Claire.
[[Amount Raised]] raised to support the future of student research at UW-Eau Claire!
Give now to secure the future of student research at UW-Eau Claire and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar! We're asking you to give to support mentored student research, and here's why: Participation in research with a mentor has proven to have a significant positive impact on a student's educational experience, both in college and beyond. From learning to solve real-world questions and problems to developing strong critical thinking and communication skills, the benefits of working on a mentored research project in college are priceless. The downside? Research isn't free. Materials, equipment and travel all come at a cost; student and mentor time are valuable. And, many students cannot afford out-of-pocket expenses that may come along with their research experience, such as travel to offsite research locations or to present their research results at regional and national conferences. That's where you come in. Your gift to the Mentored Student Research Endowment gives students the opportunity to build their skill-set by tackling real problems and questions that are important to society. And an additional bonus! If you give now your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar. From studying the potential for contamination of a family member by a cancer patient's drugs to examining how smart phones affect mental health and sleep patterns to exploring how groundwater contamination spreads, students truly make an impact through their research. But no matter what the research focus, they learn valuable skills and gain confidence in their abilities that they carry into the workplace and into society. Give now so that all students, no matter their background or financial situation, have an opportunity to participate in research at UW-Eau Claire. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar until we reach $25,000! With your help, Blugolds will continue to change lives (their own and others') for years to come. To continue the legacy of excellence, we need support from loyal fans like you to continue to compete and recruit at the top level. Men’s Soccer is raising funds to support two critical needs: new home and away jerseys and travel expenses. Our program is still using the original jerseys issued when the team was established five years ago. After seasons of competition, wear and tear have taken a toll. Investing in new home and away kits will ensure our student-athletes look and feel their best while representing our program with pride and professionalism. We are also seeking support for travel costs. Each year, our team competes against one of the toughest schedules in the country. This Athletics Giving Week, your gift will help us invest in the essentials that keep our program competitive, safe, and positioned for success. Upgraded Lobby & Meeting SpaceEnhancing the lobby where we meet with players and their families creates a more welcoming, professional environment that reflects the pride and tradition of Blugold Football. Essential EquipmentYour generosity helps us outfit our athletes with the safest, highest‑quality gear, like helmets, shoulder pads, blocking pads, and tackling pads, ensuring they’re protected every time they step on the field. Gameday TechnologyModern football depends on advanced tools. Upgrading instant‑replay systems and helmet‑to‑coach communication helps our team make real‑time decisions, coach more effectively, and elevate player performance. Transportation & Team MealsWith the addition of a full JV schedule, our travel and post‑game meal needs have grown. Your support helps cover increased bus rentals and meals so all athletes can compete safely, recover well, and represent UW–Eau Claire with pride. Matching Gift Opportunity An anonymous donor is matching all donations dollar‑for‑dollar up to $25,000! Make your gift today to double your impact for Blugold Football. Football Challenge sponsored by Play It Again Sports Be sure to follow Blugold Football on social media for Sunday's Challenge sponsored by Play It Again Sports! Gifts are counted as one per household per team. Show your support for UWEC Athletics Giving Week with a gift to Women's Cross Country UWEC Women's Cross Country What We're Fundraising For The Women's Cross Country team is a highly decorated and integral part of the UW-Eau Claire community. Our athletes follow the UW-Eau Claire mission of excellence to the highest standard. To continue the legacy of excellence, we need support from loyal fans like you to continue to practice and compete at the top level. This year, we are looking for donations to help improve the student-athlete experience. We want to support our athletes by purchasing the following:

Team Refueling Station

Team Apparel Kits

In order to compete at our best it’s imperative that we recover from our workouts and races. A team refueling station is a great way to help accomplish this goal by giving our student athletes access to high quality nutrition following workouts and races free of charge. Last year we used money raised from the athletics week of giving towards individual apparel kits; which included a Blugold branded singlet, shorts/spandex, and long sleeve running top; so we look like a team at practice. This was a huge success and we plan to continue using donations for this purpose. Matching Gift Opportunity Dr. Erik Hendrickson & Dr. Erica Barrette '99 are generously matching all gifts to Women's Cross Country dollar-for-dollar up to $1,500! Make your gift during Athletics Giving Week to double your impact. Gifts are counted as one per household per team. Once again, we will have one of the most demanding non-conference schedules in DIII next year. We must travel to take on tough teams outside our region to return to a high-ranking place and make another NCAA tournament appearance. For example, next season, we'll go to Greensboro, NC to play. Your support will help fund our transportation, lodging, and food to compete against these tough opponents. Your generosity will play an important role in maintaining and growing UW-Eau Claire Women's Basketball. Matching Gift Opportunity Blugold Women's Basketball fan, Emilio Rinaldi, will be matching all gifts made during the week dollar-for-dollar up to $3,000 and basketball alums Joe '01 and Megan '01 (Murphy) Jacobson as matching another $1,000! Make your gift during Athletics Giving Week to take advantage of this opportunity to double your support. Gifts are counted as one per household per team.
