The impact of that trip is still felt today. Our program is still using the original jerseys issued when the team was established five years ago. After seasons of competition, wear and tear have taken a toll. We are also seeking support for travel costs. Each year, our team competes against one of the toughest schedules in the country. Locker Room Updates Great teams aren’t just made on the ice, they’re also built in the locker room. This is where teammates become family—where trust grows, bonds form, and a shared purpose takes shape. Thanks to last year’s generous donors, the program was able to put new lockers into the locker room. However, there are still updates needed for this space, including replacing the carpet. Nutrition Station Fueling the body is just as important as training on the ice. Adding a dedicated nutrition station will provide Women’s Hockey athletes with quick access to healthy snacks, hydration, and recovery-focused nutrition before and after practices and games. This investment supports sustained energy, faster recovery, and overall wellness, helping our student-athletes perform at their best while balancing the demands of competition, academics, and life beyond the rink. All dollars raised during Athletics Giving Week will go towards upgrading the team locker room and hallway and helping the program with equipment costs. Support future Blugold athlete champions with a gift to the Champions Fund UWEC Athletics What We're Fundraising For This fund allows our athletics coaches access to funds to cover post-season expenses not covered by the NCAA. When our Blugolds win a national championship, this fund will be able to cover the cost of national championship rings for student-athletes and coaches. It is the goal for all teams to represent UWEC at the highest stage, and this fund helps our teams when they need it most and also rewards them when they reach the pinnacle of winning a national title!
