COB Alumni Bash, Sat., October 6, 6-9 pm, Davies Center Dakota Ballroom
The COB Bash is coming to campus this fall. Now all Blugold business alums, not just those living in the Twin Cities, can attend this annual event. Meet fellow Blugolds and your favorite faculty members following the Homecoming football game. Complimentary snacks, beer and Blugold swag. There is no charge for attending the Bash but we ask that you RSVP to help us with planning.
Invitations will be sent to all alums via email in early September. Information is also posted on the COB website and the college's social media sites.

It was a time of uncertainty when Jeff Schwantes, BBA '72, arrived on the UW-Eau Claire campus from his hometown of Neillsville, It was the mid-1960s. The Vietnam War was raging, and Jeff wasn't at all sure about his own future. After six semesters, he left school, and was drafted into the Army where he served for two years. He wanted to return to UW-Eau Claire, but he wasn't sure he would be readmitted.
"My previous academic record was less than stellar so readmission was far from a certainty," Jeff recalled. "But I knew I needed a quality education and UW-Eau Claire was my first and best choice."
Jeff will always remember the admissions counselor who gave him a second chance and the many College of Business faculty members who stepped up, believed in him and guided him.
"There is no doubt in my mind that UWEC - and the people here - provided me with the foundation that led to a 40-year career with the same company," he continued.

December and January have been successful months as we continue to drive awareness and excitement for the College of Business Faculty Excellence Fund. Our fundraising total has increased to $125,000 vs. $85,000 in early December! Thank you for all the work you have done to inspire others to give.
Thank you for continuing to support the fund through your network of alumni friends and colleagues.
Finally, I want to remind you that anyone donating/pledging more than $1,000 will be invited to a celebration of the Faculty Excellence Fund on Homecoming Eve. The event will be held at UWEC where we will celebrate our success and the difference we have made for future generations. Feel free to spread this message as you continue to contact your network.
