What We're Fundraising For
With a second-to-none facility, the Blugold coaches aim for an experience for their team that mirrors their amazing new home, The Sonnentag. Supporting the Ken Anderson Men’s Basketball Fund will help them recruit and retain student-athletes who are athletically and academically talented. Your support also helps to provide resources to ensure that our student-athletes achieve excellence in the classroom and on the court.
Our Goal is to Beat our Best
Now in our fourth year of Athletics Giving Week, we are determined to surpass our best results yet. UWEC Director of Athletics, Jason Verdugo, has challenged all teams to exceed their top performance. If we reach our initial goal of 25 gifts, we’ll receive a $500 bonus, and hitting 30 will earn us an additional $500. Gifts are counted as one per household. Multiple gifts made from the same household will be disqualified from counting towards our goal.
Matching Gift Opportunity
Mike Prasher '93 is matching all donations to Men's Basketball dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 and Joe Jacobson '01 is also matching all gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $500. This means the first $1,500 to Men's Basketball will be doubled! Make your gift during Athletics Giving Week to double your impact.
Gifts are counted as one per household per team. Please do not give a gift to the same team for you, your spouse, your child etc. because you all will only be counted as one gift towards the challenge. There is an option to jointly make your gift from you and your spouse to ensure you are both credited for your generosity.
Athletes need fuel, and that’s why the coaches provide a nutrition station for the players in the player lounge so they can grab a snack between classes and practice. A gift of $25 covers a week’s supply of snacks.
Making sure players are properly outfitted for practices and games is a priority for the coaching staff. A gift of $100 buys a pair a shoes for a player.
Help ensure players are ready on game day by providing a meal for the team! A gift of $250 will cover the cost of a pre-game team meal.
