UWEC Geology alumni have fond memories of field camps in New Mexico, Montana, and Wyoming filled with visions of solving complex geological problems, battling cacti, and grueling days spent amidst spectacular scenery. Last year we ran Field Camp I & II despite COVID-19, and we are planning the same amazing experiences for students in 2022!
With an abundance of safety measures, we're preparing to send another group of Geology students to field camp in a "bubble" format.
Unfortunately, field camp is unaffordable for many students. COVID-19 caused many students to experience financial hardship as well.
Your gift to the Myers/Willis Geology Field Camp scholarship provides a geology student with life-changing field camp opportunity. And, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by professor emeritus Dr. Paul Myers and geology alums Ric Kopp (’75) and Curt (’77) and Laura Peck!
Give now to the Myers/Willis Geology Field Camp Scholarship fund. Your gift will help defray the cost of the field camp experience so all geology students, regardless of their financial situation, can attend field camp.
Please make a gift of any size to the Adopt a Field Camper program for Field Geology students. Please see the giving level options to learn more about how you can "adopt" a field camper!
Thanks so much for supporting today's Geology students!
Sincerely,
Phil Ihinger | Chair, Dept. of Geology
