Blugold Beginnings provides academic, social, and personal support to underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation students at UW-Eau Claire.
The annual Voices of Color fundraiser event is an opportunity to share the talents of BB students while also providing information about the ways that the program operates to provide support for students in the program, both inside and outside the classroom.
Our program currently provides a guaranteed scholarship of $500 to first-year students in the Blugold Beginnings Learning Community. Our ability to award annual scholarships to sophomores, juniors and seniors who remain actively involved in Blugold Beginnings depends upon support from donations. Financial need among continuing students is often even greater than new students, as fewer scholarship opportunities may be available to returning students who have begun to accumulate student loans and may have siblings who are simultaneously pursuing higher education with limited family support.
Thanks to a generous gift from Jerry Jacobson, your donation can go twice as far in providing support for Blugold Beginnings students. Jerry has agreed to match the first $5,000 in gifts to Blugold Beginnings to support the culture of college thriving among BB students.
